Western Meat School

CSU Extension and the Niche Meat Processor Assistance Network are once again offering the Western Meat School for 6 weeks from November 4 – December 16, 2020, from 6:00-8:30 pm MT. The course is $120 per person or $160 for a couple or two people representing the same business.
This course covers key topics in production, processing, and marketing of beef, lamb, pork and other species to help producers raise high-quality meat and sell to diverse market channels. A key focus of the curriculum is understanding how to work effectively along the supply chain, so producers and processors have the opportunity to learn from each other.
This year Colorado will feature 4 in-person sites where a small group of producers will be able to gather for a facilitated class, and shared discussions. In-person classes will be held in El Paso, Pueblo, Otero and Montrose Counties. All classes will be conducted while abiding by local and state public health guidelines, and the course will be moved to online only should COVID precautions necessitate it.
