Employment at Raisin’ Roots Farm

Employment at Raisin’ Roots Farm

Now Hiring for the 2021 Season

We are seeking motivated individuals to join our team for 2021. Vegetable production experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate. Experience in landscaping, construction, and other outdoor labor positions is a plus. We are looking for someone who enjoys working outside, is physically fit, capable of working long days, can work well in challenging weather, be an active team player, and has excellent communication skills. The ideal person to join our crew can work every week through the season. We cannot accommodate someone who needs to request many days off during the season.

While our ideal candidate sees local small to medium scale food production as a worthwhile and dynamic pursuit in the long term interest of any community, if your primary interest is in food systems or food justice these farm crew positions are not appropriate for you.

If you would be comfortable at a landscaping job and you are looking for a physically and mentally engaging job centered around vegetable production, then please apply!

All farm crew members must have reliable transportation, be comfortable driving farm trucks, be able to lift 50lbs repeatedly, be comfortable with livestock, be able to work well alone and with the team, be able to retain multi-part instruction, be respectful and conscientious.

To apply for any of the positions listed below, please email your resume and cover letter to raisinroots@gmail.com. In the email subject line or email body please let us know which position(s) you are interested in applying for. You can indicate more than one position, in case your first priority is already filled. Prior farming experience on a food production farm is a big plus in our hiring process, but not necessary to apply.
