Student-Animas High School

Delyla Kroenung is a freshman at Animas High School in Durango, Colorado. Her interest in food systems continues growing as she is increasingly aware of her part in her local food system. Delyla lives in a rural community, and many places in close contact with her region are in a food desert—lacking resources for food access. She is a part of the Animas mountain bike team and has leveled up in the racing ranks in her region. Through her many travels around Colorado, she has been able to explore the inequalities within food systems locally and across the state.
