Session: What the “Right to Farm” Means in 2023: Contextualizing the Right to Farm with Indigenous Food Sovereignty
LOCATION: East Breakout
Born and raised in southwestern Colorado, resides on the Ute Mountain Ute reservation. In October of 2013-16, was elected to serve as a member of the Ute Mountain Ute Tribal council. At an early age, Lopez-Whiteskunk began to advocate for land, air, water, and animals, and strongly believes that the inner core of healing comes from the knowledge of our land and elders. Is currently a master’s candidate at Western Colorado University and employed as the Cross-Cultural Programs Director with the Montezuma Land Conservancy in Cortez, Colorado.
