Employment Status:  Part-time, Temporary, Non-exempt, approx. 15- 25 hours per week

Reports To: Community Food Access Program Manager

Compensation: $20.00-$22.00 per hour 

Position Start Date: June 3, 2026

Position End Date: October 31, 2026

Seasonal Market Staff Position Summary

GoFarm is seeking motivated, adaptable, and passionate individuals for our Seasonal Market Staff positions. Market staff will increase their knowledge of the local food system in Colorado, play an integral role in connecting local farmers to people in the community, and learn about approaches to increasing food access. They will work closely with the other CFA program staff, in a fun and collaborative team culture. Primary responsibilities will include preparing for and assisting with food receiving and distribution at our mobile markets located in Littleton, Arvada, Lakewood, Denver, and Golden, providing excellent customer service, and learning about local food and engaging with food justice issues. A final scope of work will be determined based on organizational needs and the staff member’s strengths and interests. Seasonal staff receive free weekly produce as a benefit. 

 

Responsibilities and Opportunities 

  • Receive and organize produce deliveries from local farmers and producers
  • Comply with GoFarm’s Food Safety Plan and ensure the cleanliness of all food handling materials 
  • Manage setup, cleanup, and operations of markets, including produce inventory, loading and unloading produce and supplies, creating marketing and educational displays, and providing customer service
  • Keep records of sales and handle payments at markets, including cash, credit, SNAP/EBT, Double Up Food Bucks, and various other economic incentives
  • Occasionally assist with educational and fun activities for adults and children at markets
  • Occasionally conduct or assist with food sampling or cooking demonstrations
  • Attend orientation and submit onboarding documentation
  • May attend occasional meetings with community partners
  • Learn about local producers and farmers, and help convey information about these local growers to community members
  • Participate and engage in education and conversations about race, identity, privilege, and inequity

 

Working Conditions

  • At least one day every week, staff will work: 
    • Several consecutive hours outdoors, exposed to the elements, standing for long periods of time
    • Several consecutive hours inside a mobile market truck 
  • Occasionally working in adverse weather conditions including rain, snow, high wind, and in both the heat and the cold
  • Regularly moving large boxes and crates of produce, up to 50 lbs.
  • Working in-person with the public in multi-cultural environments.
  • May include optional remote computer-based work (Zoom meetings, spreadsheets, etc.)
  • May need to drive GoFarm van to transport food between locations 
  • May drive GoFarm mobile market truck (optional, training available)

 

Skills and Qualifications

  • Must have a reliable form of transportation
  • Must be 18 or older
  • Flexible, comfortable taking initiative, and working collaboratively as a member of the team
  • Eager to learn and willing to ask questions when needed
  • Committed to work the entire season
  • Willing to engage with and be welcoming toward customers and passersby
  • Passionate about local food, food equity, and sustainable food systems

  • Conversant in English, fluency not required
